J.R. was raised in Oil Trough, Arkansas and decided to become a doctor in the 10th grade. In 1995, after completing his undergraduate studies at Arkansas State University, he entered Logan College of Chiropractic located in Chesterfield, Mo. While attending Logan College, J.R. was introduced to Upper Cervical Care. In 1997, under the direction of Dr. Michael Kale, he completed the Kale Network Certification in Knee Chest Upper Cervical Specific. J.R. graduated from Logan College in December and co-opened with Tonya, what would become one of the busiest Upper Cervical clinics; the Arkansas Upper Cervical Center. In 2005, he successfully completed his Advanced and Masters level Knee Chest Upper Cervical Specific (KCUCS) certification under the direction of Dr. Robert Kessinger. J.R. currently serves as an active member of the KCUCS board and teaches Upper Cervical Care to future doctors. He has currently been on two world mission trips : in 2000 he traveled to Costa Rica where he married Tonya, and to Ghana, Africa. J.R.'s future goals include opening more Upper Cervical Clinics and to continue developing new educational tools that help others to better power and importance of Upper Cervical Care.

We currently reside in Searcy, Arkansas. We moved here shortly after opening the Arkansas Upper Cervical Center in March, 1999. We have one son, Carter.
